Be A Campaign Champion for Long Lands Common - All Ages

Drop us an email at info@longlandscommon.org  to let us know that you and/or your family will be taking part.  We really appreciate your support. You will be making such an enormous difference by spreading the good news about our community owned woodlands project for Harrogate and Knaresborough.

We would love to see how much you are enjoying your campaign champion activities so please send any photos to the email address above. Your chosen activities and accompanying photographs will be used in our wider Long Lands Common publicity campaign, including social media. We will not publish anyone’s full name. Please remember that if there are people appearing in your photographs get their full consent or parental consent if under 16, and make sure you carry out your campaign activities safely by following Government guidelines during Coronavirus Covid 19.

By keeping in touch we will be able to issue you and/or your family with a campaign champion certificate and enter you into a prize draw to win some beautiful Wind in the Willows artwork by original Postman Pat artist Ray Mutimer.

Thank you and have fun!

Campaign Champion Activities

Below are some ideas to help you in your campaign champion quest. If a member of your family is working towards a Duke of Edinburgh Award or is a Scout or Girl Guide, then they might like to take part in our special 11 plus challenge  on our website and use their campaign work as evidence for the award or relevant badge.

  • Print off and display one or more of our ‘Say Yes To Long Lands Common’ posters. You will find separate posters for Starbeck, Bilton, Harrogate and Knaresborough in the downloads section of the website. Please pop the posters in prominent locations near your home where they can be seen - for example on your garden gate or a hedge facing out into the street.

  • Print off copies of our flyer in downloads and distribute safely to the neighbours along your street.

  • Share the poster as a JPEG on your social media pages.

  • Make a Long Lands Common banner - perhaps you have an old sheet or a large piece of cardboard that you could decorate and display in a prominent position?

  • Share our Long Lands Common website www.longlandscommon.org with all your friends, family and colleagues on email, social media/WhatsApp and text message etc..

  • Design and make a Long Lands Common mascot and share him or her with us.

  • If you have any chalks at home, perhaps your children might like to do some Long Lands Common artwork on your drive or path with our website address on, whichever is most visible to passers by and of course safest for your children.

  • Write a song for Long Lands Common and perform it on video.

  • Make a promotional video with environmental messages for Long Lands Common.

  • Write a poem about Long Lands Common.

  • Let your imagination run wild for Long Lands Common and come up with your own ideas!
