Directions to Long Lands Common

To arrive via the Nidderdale Greenway, travelling from Bilton Lane:

Starting at the Bilton Lane car park, walk down the Greenway, heading away from the Nidd Gorge.

At the fork, take the left path towards Starbeck.

At the first bridge you come to, take the steps up to the right until you are at the top.

Now cross the bridge; on the other side of the bridge you will find a stile.

Once over the stile, walk across the field (There may be horses in the field, please keep to the side of the field so as not to disturb them) until you get to a pedestrian sized gate.

This route should take approximately 15 minutes.

To arrive via the Nidderdale Greenway, travelling from Starbeck:

Starting at the beginning of the Nidderdale Greenway, at the end of The Avenue in Starbeck, head along the Greenway towards Bilton.

You will first pass under the Bogs Lane bridge.

Continue on until you reach the second bridge, then climb the steps on your left, until you are at the top.

Now cross the bridge; on the other side of the bridge you will find a stile.

Once over the stile, walk across the field (There may be horses in the field, please keep to the side of the field so as not to disturb them) until you get to a pedestrian sized gate.

This route should take approximately 12 minutes.

To arrive via the Beryl Burton Cycle Track:

Starting at Knarsebourugh, follow the cycle track until you reach the crossroads at Bilton Hall.

Turn left down Bilton Hall Drive.

Half way down Bilton Hall Drive, there is a footpath to the right, across the fields to Long Lands Common.

This route should take approximately 15 minutes.

PARKING NOTE

​

If parking on Bogs Lane, please do not park on the pavement.

​

The pavement on Bogs Lane is often used by people with mobility difficulties who attend Henshaws College, and so it should be kept clear at all times.
